In order to meet strong demand for commercial construction projects in Alberta and across Western Canada, Woods Edward Engineering Ltd. diversified to provide structural and architectural consulting services for building construction projects. Through the successful delivery of projects in western Canada over the past thirty years, Woods Edward Engineering Ltd. has developed a strong base of repeat clients.
Carmen Sim, County Garden and Greenhouses
Carmen Sim, owner of Country Garden and Greenhouses, has been operating a growing, successful greenhouse for 10 years on the family farm located just outside Ponoka, Alberta, providing superior customer service in a beautiful space. During her tenure, she has developed in-depth knowledge of the industry economics and has made many beneficial contacts in this and associated industries. In 2012, Carmen successfully completed the Professional Landscape and Design Levels 1 and 2 at the Olds College. Country Gardens and Greenhouse mission is to provide superior natural (no pesticide use) perennials, annuals, shrubs, trees, bedding out plants, and unique giftwares and consignment items. The greenhouse also provides unique experiences with artisan fairs and individualized training for anything from water gardens to pruning. The business began in 2001 as a passionate hobby, and has since expanded to over 3500 square feet of growing space. Growth of the business is attributed for the most part to repeat and referral business. Customer feedback indicates that unique and natural products along with a friendly atmosphere are why customers come back and bring their friends with them. Products include a large assortment of annual bedding plants and tomatoes including heirloom varieties, an extensive selection of herbs, perennials, shrubs, trees and fruit trees as well as home and garden decor. Additional services include customized planters and individualized landscaping from design to implementation.
